What We Do

A group of children sitting in a circle, engaging in a group activity and interacting with each other.

In Florida, it is estimated that 356,000 children will experience the death of a parent or sibling before they turn 18 years old. The grief that follows can lead to big changes in a child, including emotional and behavioral challenges, seen inside and outside of the classroom. These changes put children at a higher risk for negative relationships as they age. Our experienced team helps children navigate these changes by combining their child development knowledge with evidence-based practices and theory. Together, we provide school and community based education for children, caregivers, and supporting adults.

Grief Exploration Groups: Reimagine Grief offers a free 6-week school or community-based small group designed to help students PreK-12th grade explore their grief. These groups can help students identify healthy coping skills while talking about their loss with other students enduring similar experiences.

Supporting children during times of grief and bereavement can be difficult for adults and caregivers. Reimagine Grief offers free education sessions geared towards educating adults on how to recognize grieving children and how to best support them inside and outside the classroom.
